TRAPPING DEBRIS

FOR SANDBLASTING

We at AWI are proud to announce:

The exclusive patent pending Debris Dam was designed to eliminate the introduction of extraneous debris into the collection system during manhole rehabilitation projects. Materials, lost tools and equipment, introduced during rehabilitation projects is deleterious to the collection system. Prevention of introduction eliminates the need for permitted confined entry for retrieval. Manual capture or the use of a jet-vacuum for spent abrasives is no longer needed when using the Debris Dam. The Debris Dam is manufactured using strong, high-visibility fabrics and heavy-duty materials for a sturdy construction. The Debris Dam mast has an overall length of 6’ and folds to 40” for easy transportation. Its lightweight durable design can be easily used by professional infrastructure contractors or municipal employees. Ideal use of a debris dam would be to prevent accidental introduction of debris into the invert, bench, or collection system during any physical activity in any manhole. For example, adjustment ring installation, finger pointing brick joints, chimney seal installation, void filling, surface profiling, and all cementitious repairs. The economically priced Debris Dam is an essential tool for municipalities and rehabilitation contractors.

Easily Operated /Installed

Debris Dam features a retractable umbrella type bottom that inserts into the manhole through the casting and is opened by a slight spinning action [centrifugal force]. It is then pulled upward through the chimney and the extended arms or spines and vinyl reinforced fabric are held against the cone and the positioning rod is inserted through the mast to hold it in place. When the work is completed or the debris dam is full the retracting ring is pulled taunt causing the arms or spines to retract and the debris dam is extracted by vertically lifting manually from the manhole.

The Debris Dam can be operated / installed and removed by any adult male or female who can physically lift the accumulated weight of the Debris Dam and whatever material has been collected during repair or preparation operations. Typically the Debris Dam when full does not weigh over a combined weight of 17 kg.
